Future editions
The LSK City Guide is the first edition. It will not be the last.
We started with Lusaka because we know it best, and because no proper guide existed. The same is true of other cities. Capitals and second cities across Africa, the Indian Ocean, and parts of Southern Europe that get less attention than they deserve. Cities that reward slow attention. Cities written about, when they are written about at all, by people who do not live there.
We are working on the next editions now.
The shortlist
We are currently researching guides to:
- Harare, Zimbabwe
- Lilongwe, Malawi
- Maputo, Mozambique
- Kigali, Rwanda
- Antananarivo, Madagascar
These are first thoughts, not commitments. The order depends on partnerships, contributors, and the time it takes to write a guide we'd put our name to.

Our newsletter, Letters from Lusaka, sends occasional dispatches about new editions, places worth knowing, and the cities we are working on. No noise. You can subscribe from our homepage.
Subscribers are the first to hear when a new edition is announced, and receive launch pricing on the first run.
Suggest a city
If there is a city you wish had a proper guide, write to us. We read every suggestion. If a city we hadn't considered keeps coming up, that's a signal worth following.
Become a contributor
We work with writers, photographers, and editors who know their cities deeply. If you live in one of the cities on our shortlist, or somewhere else that fits our editorial direction, we'd be glad to hear from you. Please include a short note about your city, your relationship to it, and a sample of your writing.
